Open cases divided by the net cases cleared per month, closed less opened: 45 over three is 15 months on the worked example. If opened exceeds closed the backlog grows and the sheet shows a negative net.
What target days to close should I enter?
Your own, from the regulator's expectation or the business's; the sheet publishes no standard and the worked example's 30 days is arithmetic. What the sheet shows is how far the average is from any target.
